Early Life and Personal Family Life

Iago Aspas Juncal was born in Moaña, Spain on August 1, 1987. He is the son of Urbe Aspas Martinez and Maria Juncal Gonzalez and grew up along with his sibling named Jonathan Aspas, who is also a soccer player and plays for Alki Larnaca.

Iago loves his private life. Like many soccer players, he keeps his personal life out of his professional career. If we check Aspas’ Instagram account, you can see that he is married (with Jennifer Rueda in June 2019) and also has a son.

Aspas' Club Career

Iago Aspas soccer career is very impressive to say the least.

He has spent most of his career with Celta. He appeared in more than 300 official matches over ten seasons. He made his debut for Celta De Vigo in La liga in 2012. This was with a 0-1 loss against Málaga CF. The following year, he already moved to Liverpool. He eventually returned to Celta in 2015. 

Aspas first appeared in the Spanish national team 2016. He also represented Spain during the World Cup in 2018.

Aspas' International Career

In December 2012 Aspas was called by manager Vicente del Bosque to start his first debut in the Spanish national team on 6 February 2013, in an exhibition game against Uruguay that took place in Doha, Qatar. Unfortunately Aspas didn’t made the fial squad for that match.

Aspas finally earned his first minutes in an international game on 15 November 2016, under new coach Julen Lopetegui, for the second half of the 2–2 friendly draw against England (where he replaced Juan Mata). In that game he immediately scored his first internatioal goal.

Aspas was also included in the 23-man squad for the World Cup finals in Russia.
